Alright fella?
I'm Scott, founder of The Proper Blokes Club.
I started the club in September 2020 during the pandemic after going through a rough patch mentally.

I created a Facebook page showing videos of me walking around my favourite local spots, talking about the issues I’ve had. I wanted to see if any local lads could resonate with how I was feeling and hopefully get something out of it.
I realised I was not alone in this struggle.
After the first lockdown, I put the word out on local Facebook groups to see if anyone would like to join me on a walk and talk. One lad turned up. Then another. And it's been growing ever since.

We now run walk and talk groups attended by 100s of men every week.
COME AND JOIN THE LADS AND LET'S GET WALKING AND TALKING!
Every week, men of all ages and backgrounds join us at meet up points across London to go for a walk in the local community.
We talk.
We talk about family, relationships, sport and what’s really on our minds – things like money problems, addiction, work stress and gaining access to the kids after a breakup.

We listen and support one another.
Our friendly walks and drop-ins are breaking the stigma of men’s mental health and helping men talk openly about how they really feel.

You're not alone in your struggles. There are people out there willing to help and support you. The most important things is that you need to really want to help yourself.

We're growing
The growth of The Proper Blokes Club shows this is something that's needed in all communities.
We plan to start walk and talk groups in all London Boroughs by the end of 2025, with a view of eventually going outside of London.
Our founder Scott Oughton-Johnson plans to incorporate 15 years' experience as a youth football coach to enable him to work with younger lads in the community by providing prevention work sessions and to start up walk and talks for them.

We're more than a club. We're a movement.
